- Open the Excel mobile app on your phone and tap on theย +ย sign in the top-right corner of your screen.
- Click on theย Blank workbookย or select fromย other interesting Excel templatesย on display.
- Tap to select the particular cell where you want to import the data into.
- Tap on theย Menu button (an A with a pen) to the left of the search button.
- Scroll down and tap onย Home, then onย Insert.
- From the menu options, tap onย Data from Picture.
- Grant Excel permission to take pictures and record videos.
- The data you want to import can be captured by holding your camera over a printed table or set of data. Always make sure there’s adequate lighting, focus on data’s edge selection, and check that your image is vertical for optimal outcomes. You have complete control over image cropping.
- Tapย Continueย if satisfied with your capture, otherwise, tapย Retake.
- Tapย Openย at the bottom of your screen to open the result in Excel.
- Clickย Open Anywayย if there’s nothing to correct, and the table or data will be inserted into your spreadsheet.
- Tap on the Review All button if there are any mistakes, such as misspellings, and then press Done. If there is nothing further to correct, simply tap Ignore.
- For each cell in your Excel spreadsheet, you can then proceed to edit the information as normal.
- Make sure you print off the data or table before importing it. With or without grid patterns, the content must be shown in rows and columns.
