New iPad Pro with M2 expected to be announced by Apple “in a matter of days”

Two new iPad Pro tablets powered by Apple’s M2 chip are expected to be announced “in a matter of days,” according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his most recent newsletter. The journalist claims that the 11- and 12.9-inch smartphones will be slightly revised and may have improved charging.

The iPad Pro is expected to be released before Apple’s quarterly and annual earnings report is due out on October 27. The tablets will be introduced via a press release posted on the company’s website; however, no launch event has been scheduled.

Gurman speculated that the upcoming iPad Pro might support MagSafe charging, and that the tablet could even support reverse wireless charging, allowing the case for an iPhone or AirPods to share its charge. iOS 16 will be published, and so will the iPad’s companion operating system, iPadOS 16, which is often released at the same time as iOS but was held back this year.

Gurman claims that the band, and not the Apple Watch Ultra itself, is to blame for the device’s supply problems. It’s not easy to come across the orange Alpine loop, much less the yellow or blue Trail loop. As a result, Watch Ultra shipments have been delayed until the first week of November, and for some models, the wait may be even longer.
